When it comes to protecting your identity details, you should never simply hand over your ID or a copy of it. That's where the KopieID app comes in. With this app, you can securely make copies of your identity card, passport, or driver's license.

Here's how it works:

  1. Take a photo of your identity document.
  2. Cross out any privacy-sensitive information, such as your burgerservicenummer (BSN).
  3. Specify the intended recipient and purpose of the copy. This information, along with the date, will be added as a watermark.
  4. Once completed, you have the option to send, print, or safely save the copy for future use. Please note that saving the copy is only possible after crossing out sensitive details.

The KopieID app, which includes the handy option to save copies, is designed with security in mind. It is exclusively available for devices with storage encryption, typically those running Android version 7 or later.
